Kim Lam Investment Company Limited is a proprietary investment company. We invest our own capital in equities listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE), the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), and UPCoM.
We do not manage third-party capital. We do not act as a broker, and we do not provide investment advice to clients. Every investment decision is made for our own portfolio.
That structure is deliberate. It removes the pressure to produce quarterly narratives for investors, and leaves us free to hold a position for as long as the thesis holds — or to admit we were wrong and exit without explaining ourselves to anyone.

How we invest.

Valuation
We estimate what the business is worth using methods appropriate to its industry, and we are only interested when the market price sits below that value with a sufficient margin of safety.

Capital allocation
We size positions by conviction, not equally. A materially better idea earns a materially larger weight.

Risk management
Risk limits are set before a position is opened, not after. The portfolio is reviewed on a regular schedule and whenever the investment thesis changes.
Principles

Only invest in what we understand.If we cannot explain it, we do not buy it — however compelling the story.

No excessive leverage.Own capital is an advantage; losing it to leverage is a betrayal of that advantage.

Discipline over forecasting.We do not predict index levels. We manage positions.

Write the thesis before buying.A thesis that cannot be written down has not been thought through.
V
Correct mistakes quickly.Holding a losing position out of pride costs far more than admitting the error.
